Scaffold Safety

Working on scaffolds involves significant risks, including falls, falling objects, structural instability, and other serious occupational hazards. Proper scaffold assembly, inspection, maintenance, and compliance with safety requirements are essential for safe construction operations.

“Scaffold Safety and Safe Use” is an intensive training designed to introduce participants to the main types and components of scaffolds, applicable OSHA 1926.451–454 requirements, scaffold assembly and use requirements, and fall and falling-object protection measures. The program also covers the responsibilities of competent and qualified persons, scaffold inspection, and key safety control principles.

2. Responsibilities and Safety Control
• Categories and responsibilities of employees working on scaffolds;
• Responsibilities of competent and qualified persons;
• Scaffold inspection and technical control;
• Safe-use requirements;
• Scaffold safety training and retraining requirements.

3. Supported Scaffolds
• Types and applications of supported scaffolds;
• Assembly and use requirements;
• Fall protection requirements for scaffold work;
• Protection from falling objects;
• Prevention of key scaffold-related risks.

4. Suspended Scaffolds
• Types of suspended scaffolds, hoists, and lifting equipment;
• Safe-use requirements for suspended scaffolds;
• Fall protection measures and requirements;
• Safety controls and risk reduction measures.
