Introduction to Safety Management

The training “Introduction to Safety Management” introduces participants to the fundamental principles and practical approaches of workplace safety management systems. The course is based on proactive safety management and covers the key principles of developing effective safety programs, policies, plans, processes, and procedures.

Particular attention is given to management leadership and commitment to safety, accountability systems, employee involvement, effective professional communication, hazard identification and assessment, the Hierarchy of Controls, incident and accident investigation, and the planning and organization of safety training. The course also covers W. Edwards Deming’s 14 Points and their application to the improvement of safety management systems.
