Energy Control Program (Lockout/Tagout)

Energy Control Program (Lockout/Tagout)

The “Energy Control Program (Lockout/Tagout – LOTO)” training introduces participants to the fundamental principles of protecting employees from the unexpected energization, start-up, release, or activation of hazardous energy during equipment servicing, maintenance, and technical work.

The course covers the requirements for developing and implementing an Energy Control Program (ECP), written Lockout/Tagout procedures, roles and responsibilities, authorization requirements, employee training, and the use of energy-isolating devices and appropriate LOTO equipment. The training also addresses the use and verification of energy-control devices, safe release from Lockout/Tagout, group LOTO procedures, and maintaining continuity of energy control during shift changes.
