Utility Knife Safety

Utility knives are widely used in the workplace for various tasks, including packaging, material handling, product opening, and other routine operations. Improper use, poor maintenance, or failure to follow safety procedures can result in cuts, lacerations, and other serious injuries.

This training provides participants with an understanding of the different types of utility knives, the hazards associated with their use, and practical techniques for safe handling and operation. The program also covers proper knife maintenance and storage, selection and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), response procedures following an injury, and the importance of complying with workplace safety requirements.

The training promotes the prevention of cuts and other occupational injuries, the implementation of safe work practices, and improved employee safety awareness.

• Proper selection, use, and maintenance of PPE;
• Universal precautions and their importance;
• Key measures for preventing cuts and laceration injuries.

4. Emergency Response and Responsibilities

• Procedures to follow in the event of a cut or other injury;
• Importance of promptly reporting workplace injuries;
• Employer and employee roles and responsibilities;
• Best practices for complying with safety requirements and reducing workplace risks.
