School Safety - Athletics Supervision
Participation of students and young athletes in sports activities and competitions continues to increase each year. They take part in school, recreational, and secondary school sports programs. Proper supervision of sports activities allows coaches and athletic staff to better assess participants’ individual needs, abilities, and health-related risks.
Sports Safety is an intensive theoretical and practical training designed to introduce participants to the key principles of identifying hazards, assessing and preventing risks, applying safe work practices, and preparing for emergencies in sports environments.
The program places particular emphasis on concussion, heat stroke, cardiac arrest, and other health-related risks. It also covers Weight Room safety, inspection and maintenance of sports equipment and facilities, safety practices during sporting events, emergency preparedness, and lightning and thunderstorm safety.
The training is based on interactive learning, practical examples, and scenario-based exercises, helping participants develop the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize hazards promptly and take appropriate preventive and emergency actions in sports environments.
