Table Saw Safety

A table saw is a widely used power tool in woodworking, enabling accurate and efficient cutting of various materials. However, improper use, failure to follow safety procedures, or inadequate hazard assessment can result in serious injuries, particularly to the hands and fingers.

This training introduces participants to the fundamental principles of safe table saw operation, common hazards and risks associated with its use, risk control and prevention measures, and safe working practices. Participants will learn the safety procedures to be followed before, during, and after table saw operation, as well as the proper use of guards and personal protective equipment (PPE).

The training also covers safe material feeding and cutting techniques, kickback hazards and prevention methods, practical approaches to preventing hand and finger injuries, and basic procedures for responding to emergency and hazardous situations.

Participants will also become familiar with relevant OSHA safety requirements, employer and employee responsibilities, and practical measures that contribute to reducing workplace risks, maintaining a safe working environment, and preventing accidents and injuries.
