Laboratory Safety
The training “Laboratory Safety” introduces participants to the fundamental principles of identifying, assessing, and controlling hazards in laboratory environments, as well as essential safety practices for preventing workplace accidents and occupational illnesses.
The training is particularly focused on non-industrial laboratories, where employees may be exposed to chemical, biological, radiation, and other types of hazards. Participants will become familiar with applicable safety requirements and the Hierarchy of Controls, including the principles of hazard elimination, substitution, engineering and administrative controls, and the use of personal protective equipment.
The training also covers safe work practices involving biological agents and toxins, prevention of exposure to bloodborne pathogens and response to incidents, safe work with laboratory animals, physical and ergonomic hazards, radiation, lighting, and safety requirements for working with laboratory equipment.
